It is done!

Well all except the felting, my bag is done! I am quite pleased with how it turned out. My pal will have a totally handmade bag. Totally hand made as in from raw sheep fleece to handspun yarn to hand dyed and knit bag. I can only hope she likes it. In reading her likes and dislikes, I know she wanted something kind of big for carrying lots of stuff, but that she also wanted something funky. Well, big I can do, but funky....well not so much. I'm afraid I did more of a traditional stripe job. But I did incorperate her favorite colors with only an alternate accent color thrown in.

Now I'll have to decide if I'll mail it right away or make her wait hehehehe!

Lisa

She's a beauty

Here is the finished bag, I think it looks great to me.

I made up the pattern, used two strands of yarn held together, one was a Galaway and the other was a handpainted sock yarn.

I think I might have seperation anxiety sending this one off.

Hope my buddy likes it!

FINALLY got started!!

I've lost track of when I am supposed to have posted on here, but here goes anyway. I have been agonising over bag patterns for what feels like ages. Everything I looked at wasn't quite right, or I couldn't decide on the right yarn, or I couldn't find the right yarn for it. I had decided that I would definitely use yarn from my stash rather than buying it - and as I have a LARGE STASH that isn't being mean, it's just something I have been trying hard to do all year. I knew I could knit something really nice from my stash, it was just a question of what. After much, much thinking, I have decided not to do a felted bag, but this ... Tasha from Knitty ... as I have had some Rowan Denim maturing in the stash for ages, and it struck a chord with something my pal said in her questionnaire. I only started it last night but it looks like it will knit up quite quickly. I am planning to line it, which isn't in the pattern, but I want to chose some nice fabric (also from the stash, I have a fabric stash too!) that complements the denim look. It won't be a huge bag, but my pal didn't say anything about size, and I think it will be really pretty. If I have time I am hoping to make a pin or something to put on it as well.

It's certainly big

A last minute entry for May. I agonised long and hard, choosing my pattern, then got down to knitting...and knitting...and knitting.
Here's the result:

Ok, at first inspection it looks like a knitted boulder. Not very inspiring, but not too bad. The disturbing part is when you realise that what's inside that boulder is ... me. And yes, I am a full sized adult. This thing is a monster, and it doesn't want to felt!

Back to the drawing board in June!

Bag almost ready!

Just to let my Pal know that her bag is almost finished! ^^ I knitted it last weekend, and it's felted this morning, and when I took it out of the washing machine - I LOVE it!!! ^^ (and I hope my Pal will love it, too).
(Yes, I've changed the pattern - I was supposed to knit the unfelted bag from the pattern I found on the Web, but then it turned out that there was someting wrong with the pattern and the bag didn't look nice, so I changed it into my own pattern - I was anxious whether it'll turn out nice, but now I know I can proudly share the pattern with anyone interested - I'll post it to my blog when the bag gets dry so I can take pictures. ^-^)

I also want to let my Pal who's knitting the bag for me know that I received your mail, I'll answer you soon (I didn't have access to Internet recently).

I hope everyone's so happy with their bags as I am! ^^
Happy knitting!

Saturday, May 27, 2006

well, here I go again. The first try in felting this bag did not go well, apparently I miss read one of the yarns used and it ended up to be a washable wool, and well it didn't felt. So I will give it another try. But, I know my secret pal will not be disapointed with the final (and correct) outcome.
So with no further delay - a knitting I will go, a knitting I will go......

Good thing Lost was 2 hrs long last night. . .

because it bought me some good uninterrupted knitting time! I finished the body of the bag for my Pal & today will decide if I'm going to do knitted straps or leather ones. Then the lining & it'll be on it's way to my pal!

I like the way the bag came out (have decided to make it for myself this fall in cream & brown) but wish it was a little smaller. I really think once the handles are on I'll feel differently.

Nothing like waiting....

... until the last minute to post for May :-)

You see -- I am somewhat here, hiding in my corner, afraid to show my face. The reason... well I haven't started my bag yet. You see I have a good excuse... well sort-of.

For the past 9+ weeks, knitting has made me horribly sea sick! Yup! Can you believe it? It's sad but true. It's only in the last few days that picking up my needles hasn't made me want to run and barf... but unfortunately I have yet to start on my bag!

What's taking so long you may ask? Well I still need to pick the perfect pattern, the perfect yarn, and the perfect time to get it all done. I have some ideas, some cool fresh new idea that is going to make for a totally perfect gift... I just need to get it from my head to my needles.

So, that's my excuse... but have no fear... my June post will soooo have a WIP update if not a FO report... I promise!! :-)

http://couldbefun.blogspot.com

P.S. If anyone created their bag from their very own pattern design and wants to have it published on the new online knit/crochet magazine For the Love of Yarn - send me a note at editor@fortheloveofyarn.com - I'd love to get your patterns published on the site!

Still working and a thank you

Wow, I'm feeling like a real slug right about now. I'm not finished. I'm not close to finished. In fact, depending on how you look at it, I'm not quite started yet! I did pick out the pattern, and I got some yarn and swatched, but.....

I just don't like how the swatch turned out. I think it was a problem that I used two different kinds of yarn, though I felted with both of them before (and they both felt nicely). I think the problem is that they didn't quite felt at the same rate, so instead of a nice rectangular swatch in stripes, I got a, well, not quite sure what you'd call the shape, other than "not quite right" .

So I'm re-evaluating. Still planning on making the same bag, but I think I'm going to order up some new yarn and go from there.

But in the meantime, I want to send a big thank you to my pal (whoever she may be ;-) for the lovely package she sent with personalized address stickers with the cutest little knitting sheep on them AND the most adorable little change purse. It's a knit sock with a purse top on it (and it's even lined). If I can figure out how to get the camera working, I'll take a picture, cause it's completely adorable! It also made my month, since my family is going through a bit of challenge at the moment (we seem to be having dueling health crises---just not fun!). So thank you very much, pal. Your thoughtfulness is really lovely!

Well, off I go on a yarn hunt. I'll post again once I've made some progress!

while the computer is working.....

while the computer is working, i wanted to post and say that there have been some absolutely beautiful bags......:)

i have finished the bag part of the one i have made for the exchange, i have (what i think) is a neat way that i want to do the handles (hopefully it will work...fingers crossed), so i need to see if i can figure it out...if i am able to post a pic and perhaps this statement will make sense. and if it works i will definately be making one for myself:)

i have finished another one since that one and i really like how it turned out, so i might make another like it instead.....

decisions, decisions......

happy knitting.....Lisa

Started!

I finally started my bag, but it's knitting up very quickly, so expect it to be finished soon! ^^
Here is the yarn shot:

Happy knitting!

just starting

hi everyone, i just got back from a 2 week missions in Romania, so i haven't started the bag yet, but i am going out today or tomorrow to get the bag, and i can't wait to start!

-jesusismyrock

Should I do another?

I finished my bag in the first week and it's quite cute, but subsequently I've been thinking that maybe it's not the right color. I bought new yarn this weekend because I can't walk by the LYS down the street on the way to the dog park without walking in while they are having a huge sale. It's pretty ridiculous how many times I stop in there and I hope they don't notice me! Anyway, I think I may knit another bag, so I don't want to post the last one and have my tote receiver say "hey, I liked the other one better!". When I decide which one I'm sending I'll post a pic!

Baby is here!!

He was my Mother's Day surprise. It hasn't been easy. his lungs were not fully developed and spent a week in a hospital an hour away from me.. I had numerous complications. Lost tons of blood and had to have 2 blood transfusions. I am dealing with infections right now but am feeling much better.
I am anxious to be totally mended and get back to life...
Here he is.. Andrew Jefferson..

Going in the post ...

Well, I am finally mailing my partner her bag!! I will go to the post office tomorrow and send it off ... I shall miss that bag ... and I have so many offers on it, you just wouldn't believe it!! Anyway, the box is ready with the bag & some goodies ... I sure hope she likes everything ...

Oh yeah, will there be another exchange later?? I have had some of the admirers asking me if there will be another so they can get in on the fun ...

~ Sherri

Can't believe I'm almost done

Finished the bag, last night I finished the handles. Now I need to attach the handles and felt the bag. Can't believe I'm so close to finishing!

C'est Finis!

I don't know why I had to put my title in French - perhaps because I've been listening to an audio book where some of the characters have French accents. Anyway, here it is!

The pattern is from Jamieson's Shetland Knitting Book #3, and was desigend by the "Two Old Bags" ladies. It's a nice size to sling over the shoulder, and seems very comfortable there. The yarn is Tahki Ambrosia Slim, which was great to work with. Too bad they don't make it anymore. I was lucky enough to find this at a big yarn sale a couple of years ago. I bought all they had.

Here's a close up of the button. It's a nice vintage button from my collection, and I think it goes perfectly with the bag. Keeps with the monochromatic coloring, but adds a little pizazz.

I probably won't be sending the bag off for a few weeks yet. For one thing, it's got to dry thoroughly. Also, I've got to find a few more goodies to put inside. I haven't participated in an exchange like this before, someone please tell me - should the goodies be knitting related, or can they be anything? Right now I have some of each. So much fun! Hope the recipient likes it...

My tote is finished!

I finished my tote!
I made up my own pattern, it is a great looking bag, I will need to keep it a few extra days to show it to the ladies at the yarn shop. I will try to figure out how to post a picture this weekend. It exceeded my expectations, there will be more of these to come!

Minor Sidebar changes

You'll notice that I've now put up a place where we can all see photos of our finished objects in one space. Er... and I spelled 'gallery' wrong on the http address *hangs head in shame*. (p.s. I spelled it gallergy - blech!) Hope I can be forgiven for that. Anyhow, I thought anytime I felt a knitting malaise come over me, I would look at our Hall of Fame'rs to be visually inspired and I hope this helps everyone else, too. Just for clarification: anytime that we receive confirmation that a successful bag exchange has taken place, I post the photo on the Hall of Fame for the knitter's job well done! I hope to see everyone's photo, soon! Have a great summer!

Ready Set

Just about ready with things. This has been fun.

My bag is ready

My bag is ready!
Next thing that is very exciting is to send the bag to the secret pal and hear what she thinks about it. I'm really exited!

Evelyn's May Tote Update

Greetings Tote Exchangers!

My swap partner should be pretty excited because I just pulled the bag out of the washing machine yesterday, and it looks just awesome. I'm using Paton's Classic Merino, which felts like a DREAM!

Over the weekend I purchased the handle, snap assembly and lining fabric, so as soon as I get moved in to my new place and get my sewing area set up this will be my first FO.

I'm enjoying this so much I think we should do it again.

Evelyn,

In D.C. where the devil is beating his wife.
(That's an 'old folks' expression for when it's raining while the sun is shining)

Hard at work!

I am halfway done with my knitting! Now I just need to pick out the perfect handle for my tote. There are not many resources for purse handles, so I will probably need to do an internet search. Wish me luck....

Sorry for late post

Got yarn, got pattern, will start soon

May update post

Well I've finally decided upon a pattern. Whew! that was tough because my partner is a bit difficult! I also got the wool spun and dyed so I hope that I have enough to finish the project. She will have a bag that is totally handmade from raw fleece to finished product. I know she will appreciate that. She is a fabulous knitter herself and I'm in awe of her own skills. I can't wait to see what my own pal comes up with for me. I'm dying to see it!

May Update Post

Thank you to all those who have posted their May Update. As Bonnie has said already, posting once a month is required part of this exchange, only to let us know that you're still participating and let us know how you're doing. We all love pictures and hearing about our knitting trials and tribulations. That's what makes a knitting blog/exchange fun. :) If you don't know how to work a camera, don't worry! Just a simple text post would be fine, too and we, the hostesses, are here to help.

Congratulations to our first bag recipient, Sherri, and our first bag sender, Bonnie! Wow, priority mail sure is fast! I haven't even finished mine, yet! :P Just to let all of you know, though... Relax. It's not a race, but we do require you to send your bag out in time for the recipient to receive by July 21, 2006. Good luck and have a good time! I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful bags. It's very touching to see such generosity spread all over the world.

It's here ...

THE BAG HAS ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Bonnie for the lovely bag & all the treats inside!! It arrived just as I was leaving to get the kids from school, so once opened my dd told me that the bag is hers, and some of the treats too - lol ....... the boys weren't as excited about the bag, but definately wanted the treats!!

These are like potato chips!

I've started a blue bag for the exchange. It's a sky blue/turquoise in Noro Oimichan from my stash. I think I'm the only one that's not doing a square or rectangular bag. This one is round. I'll have to see how it felts before I decide if it's going to be mine or go for the exchange. But I'm definitely going to do some more... This is fun! And a good way to use up some of the novelty yarn that's been collecting...... I'll see if I can get the camera charged and a pic so I can post it.

Progress

I have been working on my bag and am happy with how it is turning out. I sure hope my pal likes it. It does seem to be a bit big though so we'll see if it shrinks enough in the felting process otherwise someone might be getting a larger bag than I intended! Here's a tiny peek - I don't want to show too much and give away the design. Hope you are all having fun - I'm enjoying seeing the posts - please everyone POST EARLY - POST OFTEN - PHOST PHOTOS!!! Thanks.

Secret Exchange Protocol

The following note was emailed to all participants. If you did not receive it via email, please let the hostesses know.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having fun planning and knitting their tote to send to their partner. I know many of your are participating in an exchange for the first time so I wanted to take this opportunity to discuss some hints and tips to make this Secret Exchange as much fun as it can be for all participants.

1. Consider sending an email or post card to your recipient. Although we are not requiring people to contact their recipients, it's a great deal of fun for your recipient when they DO hear from you. If you want to remain anonymous, you may set up an anonymous email that doesn't contain your name. OR I will offer the following to anyone who doesn't want to bother with setting up an email but DOES want to send their partner a message. Send an email to this email address with your message and the person to whom you want to send the message. I will copy and paste the content into a new email and send it from this email address. [Note: the downside to this is that your recipient will not be able to respond.]

2. Respond to your sender's email - If you have received an email from your sender, please respond so they know you received their message. More importantly, if you have received a small package from your sender, let them know you received it!!! You may do this by emailing them (if you have an email address to them) or better yet, POST TO THE BLOG!!!

3. Comments are very much appreciated! If you see a picture on the blog that you like, do leave a comment! It only takes a minute or two and the original poster gets so much out of it.

4. Thank your sender - I feel kind of silly spelling that out but in the last exchange I did, there were many senders who were never thanked at all. We get busy... we forget.... But it really makes the sender feel bad so please try to be respectful.

I think that does it for now. If you have any tips you'd like us to share with the group, please do let us know!!

KNIT ON!

Ding Dong..... Tote Exchange Calling....

Option One: A summery bag

Via Diagonale from Knitty in summery blue and green. I finally motivated myself to sew in the lining so it is officially finished. I may try out one or two more patterns before deciding what to send to my pal.

Pattern Idea

I know most of you probably already have your patterns picked out, but I was bored over the weekend and so I created a bag of my own. This is just a bag I made for myself, but I wrote the pattern down here for anyone who would like. I have never really written any patterns like this before, so let me know if there are any problems with it. Enjoy!

Is my bag the only unfelted one?

I started my bag tonight for my Exchange buddy but am now questioning it because it seems as though everyone's doing a felted bag.

If you're not doing a felted bag could you leave me a comment so I will stop questioning my choice (it IS a great pattern & the bag is very smart looking!).

Ready to get started.

I finally got my wool ordered yesterday. It should be here by midweek and then I am ready to start knitting. I have the pattern all ready to go and am really excited about this.
I will let you know when it gets here and when my daughter gets back from her trip (she took her camera with her) I will post photos.
Happy knitting..........Colette

Buddy, Bag is in the Works!

I'd post a picture of the bag in progress but I don't have a camera! LOL!
Love the bags that are shown and am looking forward to sending my buddy hers -
hope it will be soon so she can use it. It's a real summer bag.
Knit on everyone! This has given me a bag bug... may have to make another few for gifts.
Linda

How to Post

I know some of the participants are new to blogs and thought it might be helpful to describe how to create a post. Go to http://www.blogger.com/home and sign in, if necessary. You should see the Tote Exchange and any other blogs to which you belong. If you would like to post, select the little plus sign in the new post column. You will be taken to a screen that says create. Type in the title of your post and then type the text. If you would like to add a picture, select the little icon on the right that looks like a landscape and follow the instructions. Once your're finished composing your message, you may select preview (upper right) to see what it will look like or simply select Publish Post (orange button on the bottom.)

That's it. If you need additional help, please let the hostesses know. And just a reminder that we are asking each participant to post at least once in each of the three months of the exchange (May, June, July) so that we know you are still out there!

Well-traveled bag

Have been busy working on my bag. I went to visit my family in New York and New Jersey this past week and took this with me. So far the bag has been knitted on a flight from Portland OR to Albany, New York (with a stop in Chicago), at my brother's home in New Jersey and on the flight back home (Albany to Baltimore to Salt Lake City to Portland). It's really well-traveled and it will be even more so when I send it from my home in Central Oregon off and away to its recepient. It doesn't look like much now but I have high hopes for it and have taken the photo on the washer where it will eventually be felted. Incidentally, I chose Cascade yarn (for the Northwest references) got it home, looked at the label and discovered it was made in Peru! Oh well, the geography lesson continues.

Felted

Still needs a bit of shaving, but it's finally dry!! And the colours actually look pretty accurate in this pic ...

Wednesday, May 10, 2006

Another one ...

Well, it's still drying ... but I thought I'd show you the pre-felted bag:

It's sage-ish green with hot pink! It's a very modified buttonhole bag ... it was a very quick and easy knit!! I knit this up in one evening while watching tv!! I'll try to get the felt pics up soon!!

I also added the pics here for my first bag I did ... it's the one that is 'supposed to' to to my partner!!! Just scroll down to my previous post a couple days ago and you can take a peek ... if you want to!!

I finished!

I just finished the felted flower (it is purple not blue) and pinned it on the bag. I am very pleased with the results. I probably won't get to the post office before Saturday so somebody should be checking their mail early next week for a package!

Tuesday, May 09, 2006

Pattern selected!

Okay, so I've selected the pattern and will buy yarn next week. ^^
Also, I would like to let my exchange pal know that I have prepared a lot of gooddies which will accompany the bag (some specific to my country), but I will not be sending them prior to the bag itself.
Why? Because... can I send them to her without revealing my address on the envelope? I can't. And if I do this, she will immediately know, which person from the list is her secret pal, because I am the only one in this exchange from Poland, and secret won't be a secret anymore! Well, in this case I'll just pack it all together with a finished bag and send in one big parcel sometime in May or June. ^^
Happy knitting!

Monday, May 08, 2006

I think I'll make another ...

Since the bag almost made itself it would seem, I think I'm going to make another bag ... or two - lol!! I still think he first one will go to my partner, and I'm going to wait a bit before I send it so I can add a few little goodies ::snicker, snicker:: ... I've never made the button-hole bag before, but I think I'll whip one (or more) up for a teacher gift(s). I'll try to post a pic of the before and after of the bag that is finished, if you want to see it ...

OK, getting going at last

First there was the search for the perfect bag pattern, then the search for the yarn!
OK, not the two have met, let the knitting begin!
I have fussed and thought and just couldn't think of what to make, wanted that pattern that no one else had found, then not just any yarn!
I am dropping a little something in the mail to let my partner know I haven't forgotten her.

Gotta go, knitting starts now!

Bag done..

Is felting right now.. just need to figure out what I want to do to embellish it and the handles..Not sure how to add pics so here is a link to the picture..
http://www.woolieacres.com/blog/4-15-06.jpg
I don't think my identity is very secret anymore.. apparently my secret email address added my name so my partner knows my name :-) oopppss.

Almost Done

I was going to wait until I had made the flowers and the bag dried but I couldn't wait. Here is a before and after photo of my bag so far.

Make totes...than decide?

I'm nearing completion on a pattern I HAD to make but I'm thinking I may have to try making a couple different kinds of totes before I feel I've found the one for my secret pal. Anyone else that indecisive?

One done...one to go...

why do I have one to go?? I got bored and needed a diaper bag.. so I crocheted up one in no time and felted it this morning. I just need handles.. So I like the pattern I just need to get started on the one for the exchange. I think I will start it tomorrow.. that way I can have it felted before I go off to have this baby later this week.
If you would like to see the one I did this morning click here

Have yarn, will knit!

I had finally settled on a design and was about to purchase yarn on the internet when I remembered that my LYS was having a sale. So after entering the yarn store, all my plans went up in smoke. I decided on a completely different project, a fabulous one, but completely different.

Kathleen yarn in Clara Barton

I thought that using a local yarn was kinda cool, too.

Happy knitting,

Miriam

Almost done?!? I haven't started yet!

Ohmigosh, Sherri, you are totally throwing off the curve! I haven't even cast on yet, and you're getting ready to cast off! I haven't even decided *what* to cast on yet, and you are getting ready to cast off!

I'm not without progress to report, though. I have at least settled on a pattern.....well, in theory anyway. I've decided to make "my constant companion." What I haven't quite decided is what colors to make it and what design to put on the pocket (or should I include more than one)? Should it be one main color, or should I do stripes? Or a pattern on the bag itself? Or how about multicolored yarn? Oh, decisions, decisons.

Still so much to decide. But at least I've got my pattern picked out! (You don't know, but for me, that's real progress!)

Just about done ...

Well, I'm just about done with the cast off, so then we'll see how it looks ... is it alright if our package goes out to our partner this month??

Wednesday, May 03, 2006

Yikes! I Better get Moving!

I felt like I waited so long to get my pal's name, and what have I done since then? NOTHING! Well, as soon as I signed up, I made a Booga Bag, which you can see here. Then I started a second "warm-up" bag using the same yarn and a pattern from Jamieson's Shetland Knitting Book #3. That's still on the needles, and I really need to get moving and finish it, and get started on the actually bag for my secret pal.

So many patterns to pick from and so many yarns in the stash...what will be the right combination? It's a little scary to think about. To make matters worse, (or better) a nearby yarn shop was having a sale on bag kits, with some awfully fancy, pricey yarns in them - at 50% off, throwing more options into the mix. I better decide soon what I'm going to do. I don't think the knitting part will take much time, but the planning, oh my....

Tuesday, May 02, 2006

Been thinking...

I've made about a dozen 'final decisions' about the bag I am going to make. Yesterday I narrowed it down yet again but now I am not so sure! But it will happen, and I hope my pal likes whatever I come up with. Will post again when I do make an actual decision.

Ahhhhhh ...

The yarn has arrived!!!! But now that I have in in front of me with the pattern, I'm not sure I like the pattern & I just might have to find something else ::sigh::, and of the 6 colours I ordered, only 5 really go well together, but that's fine, I'm sure I'll figure something out for the other one - lol

Off to find a new pattern .........

Bonnie's Bag Update

Allison and I were "chatting" via email this morning and we both would love to see photos. I know, I know, we're only one week into the process but I'm impatient! Anyhoo, thanks to a vacation last week, I made great progress on my bag. The pattern is from Pursenalities Plus and is similar to the buttonhole bag pattern that is seen all over blogland. My yarn is Cascade 220 in lime green and purple along with some Cascade squiggle for accent. It will ultimately have some felted flowers on it.

Has anyone else cast on yet?

Bonnie

Indecisive a bit...

Well, I'm wavering between what purse to make. My secret pal listed under her preferences for a felted item. Before the tote exchange started, I had in mind what pattern I wanted to make and what purse I wanted to knit for someone (before I was assigned my match). However, the yarn I was thinking of using doesn't really felt that well:

Exhibit A: Noro Silk Garden

I've been looking through all the free felted bag patterns on the web, wondering what to do. Finally, I happened by in my local yarn shop and found a felted bag pattern that looked really cute. The yarn required are these skeins (requiring 6):

Exhibit B: Frog Tree Alpaca

Problem is...I like the Noro pattern more than the felted one. Argh. Well, one purse will not be felted (the Noro one). One purse will be felted (the Frog Tree Alpaca). What do those of you who listed as 'felted' as your preferences think? Would you mind getting a non-felted purse regardless? Or shall I respect my secret pal's preferences and knit the felted bag pattern?

well guess who went shopping??

monday i went to katy to a new yarn store that had opened..yarntopia. really cute store. i found some yarn that truely called to me for the purse of course :) and then i got some new needles (made of horn from nepal) and some other goodies as well.
the yarn store is right down the road from an alamo drafthouse--very cool movie theatre, you get waited on at your seat, great food and drink-at least at the ones in austin and there is enough light for some knitting...i feel a need for another trip to houston or austin...
i actually made one of my first swatches, that i washed to see how well it would felt...i am so proud:) thrilling i know.
hope everyone has fun.......

Frustration is setting in ...

Aaarrgghhh ... my yarn order has not arrived yet & I am getting VERY impatient - lol!! If it doesn't get here quick I am going to end up changing my mind on what bag I am making 'again'!!! Actually I discussed my bag plans with a fellow knitter who is not in this exchange and she said she thought it sounded great ... hope my partner will like it too!!
